Mobile app
The Firmcraft IoT app puts your alerts, devices and analytics on your phone, and sends device alerts as push notifications, even when the app is closed.
The app is available for Android. iPhone is coming later.
Install and sign in
- Install the Firmcraft IoT app on your Android phone. Ask your Firmcraft contact or support for the download link.
- Open it and sign in with the same email and password you use on the dashboard. If your account uses a verification code, enter the 6-digit code when asked.
- Allow notifications when Android asks, so alerts can reach you.
Everyone can use the app with their normal role: Viewers can look, but can't change anything.
What's in the app
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Overview | Active alerts with today compared with yesterday, critical and unassigned counts, and the severity split over the last 24 hours. |
| Alerts | Every alert, filtered by Open, Resolved or All and by severity. Open one to see its timeline and to acknowledge, assign or resolve it. Long-press to select several and act on them together. |
| Devices | Your devices and gateways, and each one's details. |
| Analytics | Pick up to 5 devices, one metric and a time range, to see a trend chart (drag along it to read values) and each device's current, high, low and average values, uptime and alerts. A fleet summary is also available. |
| Settings | Push notifications, Critical alerts only, Send a test notification, and Sign out. |
The app also has a notifications inbox for device changes and plan reminders.
Push notifications
Device alerts arrive on your phone as they're raised. Tap one to open that alert in the app.
A device or gateway going offline or coming back online also arrives as a push. These are notifications, not alerts, so they don't appear in the Alerts tab.
You get the same alerts as by email: the company Admin, the User the device is assigned to, and that User's Viewers. To control them:
- In the app: Settings → Alert notifications, and Critical alerts only.
- On the dashboard: Push Notifications and Critical Alerts Only in Settings.
Check that push works
In the app, open Settings and tap Send a test notification. The notification status there tells you what's wrong if nothing arrives:
| Status | What to do |
|---|---|
| On for this phone | All good. |
| Blocked | Notifications are turned off for Firmcraft IoT in Android's settings. Tap Open settings and allow them. |
| Registered, server not configured | Push isn't enabled on the server. Contact Firmcraft support. |
| Not registered or Unavailable | Sign out and sign in again. |
Signing out
Settings → Sign out. The phone stops receiving alert notifications for your account.
